• Patricia Lovett creates artwork for those who want to mark a particular occasion by using words. This could be for a birthday, anniversary, wedding, birth, or any celebration. It could mean writing out a favourite quotation, poem or passage of text; this can then be framed.
• Although she is quite happy to write this out fairly simply in black or one colour, what she loves is using background washes and colours, and interpreting the words in a free and expressive way.
• Patricia can also write these words in a book format which she then binds, making the gift that much more personal.
• Her speciality is gilding and traditional skills, using 23.5 carat leaf gold, powdered gold, vellum, egg tempera and quills.
• She is always happy to talk over the many possibilities with the client so that the end result is one which will give as much delight to the giver as to the receiver.
• Patricia also produces artwork and props for film and television.
• She, or at least her right hand, has also been filmed many times using quills and Copperplate pens for various films, BBC, ITV and Channel 4 programmes.
• She has designed many of her books as well as brochures and presentation literature for educational institutions, publishers, etc, and also most of the publications of the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society.
• Patricia lectures and teaches workshops throughout the UK and Ireland, as well as all over the world.
